AWS-3 Auction Changes Rules Again

The FCC has altered the rules for the upcoming bidding rounds in the AWS-3 spectrum auction. 187 rounds have been completed in 32 days reaching close to $45 billion. The FCC explained that there will now be 14 10-minute rounds each day, reducing the total bidding activity time to two hours and 20 minutes a day. Only days earlier did the FCC change to ten 15-minute rounds a day. “With these short bidding periods, it is essential that bidders have firm back-up arrangements ready for immediate implementation,” the FCC wrote in an announcement.
