Two committees in Pensacola, Florida’s, Community Maritime Park Associates are set to discuss a cell tower proposal at the park to increase funds for the CMPA. The audit and design and operations committee will meet this week to review a proposal by Jesta Towers, who wants to construct a tower that could generate about $1,500 per month. The CMPA is currently operating at an annual deficit of $144,000 per year, according to the News Journal. “We are in the red, and we’re exploring funding sources to eliminate our subsidy by the city of Pensacola,” CMPA board member Fred Gunther said.“We have a design committee that will review the proposal and evaluate that to make a proposal to the full board if a cell tower would be appropriate for the park.” Jesta Towers’ proposal came after a Verizon contractor approached the committee with a proposal for a tower at Blue Wahoos stadium.
