Along with the livestock display, there will be COWs at the State Fair of Texas provided by AT&T to boost network coverage. AT&T has brought in nine COWs to help increase backhaul and Wi-Fi coverage. “We notice year over year, there’s an increase in demand with the number of devices and the amount of data for each device,” Tracy Zavelson, director of AT&T’s antenna solutions group told the Dallas Business Journal, adding that AT&T monitors capacity demand 24/7 at events such as the fair. “So, more people are bringing devices and using those with larger data demands.” The State Fair of Texas is held at Fair Park in Dallas through October 19. The State Fair of Texas is one of the biggest fairs that requires some of the highest capacities for AT&T’s data, Zavelson said. Not only does the fair draw about 3 million people annually, but also the Red River Rivalry, the showdown between the University of Texas and Oklahoma University, draws out-of-towners to the Cotton Bowl and the fair, according to the Dallas Business Journal.
