Gloucester County in New Jersey dropped the threat of their lawsuit against a radio tower owner after the county’s public safety equipment was allowed to be installed at no cost, according to The Daily Journal. The equipment is part of the county’s $16 million project to upgrade the public safety radio system to the 700 MHz frequency. When the county approached Pinnacle Towers, a subsidiary of Crown Castle, they asked the county to pay $3,850 a month to install the equipment on the tower, even though there was an agreement in place to allow the equipment to be mounted at no cost. The county planned on filing their lawsuit in state Superior Court against Pinnacle Towers but reached an amicable agreement” with Pinnacle on Monday that “is not going to cause us any unnecessary litigation,” according to Freeholder Deputy Director Joe Chila, The Daily Journal reported.
