Advantage Engineers, Warriors 4 Wireless, and PCIA-The Wireless Infrastructure Association launched a new program to train veterans in the telecommunications industry and held its first weeklong session on November 17-21. The pilot program included eight students and covered topics from canvassing and searching for sites, site development, lease negotiation and zoning, roundtable discussions and regulatory and environmental documentation. Veterans also participated in fieldwork and site visits to get hands-on training on towers and rooftops. “We are excited to have partnered with Advantage Engineers, one of the leading professional service companies in our industry, on the newest W4W training curriculum,” said Kelley Dunne, CEO of W4W. “We look forward to additional offerings of this course through 2015 as well as launching new courses to provide additional career opportunities for our veterans.” Jonathan Adelstein, President and CEO of PCIA – The Wireless Infrastructure Association said, “This program is a great example of the effort to bring the wireless industry together with a very worthy cause: finding careers for our nation’s veterans. We’re proud to represent Advantage Engineers as a member of our association, and we salute them for helping to grow the wireless workforce of the future—those that will build the next-generation facilities needed to keep up with exploding demand for wireless broadband.”
