According to IBISWorld, the wireless tower construction industry has sharply contracted over the past five years due to the recession. Although, if you hit up an industry convention: NATE, PCIA, South Wireless Summit, you definitely don’t get that feeling. IBISWorld recently published a research report predicting that there will be much growth over the next five years to 2019. Over the period, private nonresidential construction investments are forecast to increase, and local and state government funding for telecommunications projects is also anticipated to slowly recover,” says IBISWorld Industry Analyst Sarah Kahn. “Additionally, telecommunications service providers are expected to steadily expand their high-speed data services, while existing infrastructure will require considerable maintenance and repairs.”
