Altice Announces Sale of Tower Sites in Portugal and France

Altice’s announcement that its tower portfolios in France and Portugal were under review as part of their plans to pay down debt, has caught the interest of European tower players.

Altice owns around 5,300 GBTs (Ground Based Towers) in France through opco SFR and a further ~3,000 in Portugal through MEO, as well as further rooftop assets and sites across both countries.

Altice Europe’s CEO Dennis Okhuijsen recently confirmed that the towers Altice owns in Portugal through MEO are part of the list of non- strategic assets for sale. Plans for the French market have not yet been made known, but this latest sale and leaseback opportunity in Europe has caught the attention of Europe’s largest towercos.
