AT&T Turns on 4G LTE in Illinois

AT&T has activated their 4G LTE technology in LaSalle, Peru, Ottawa, Springfield, and Lincoln in Illinois. “We continue to see demand for mobile Internet skyrocket, and our 4G LTE network in Springfield and Lincoln responds to what customers want from their mobile experience — more, faster, reliable, on the best devices,” said Paul La Schiazza, President, AT&T Illinois. “In today’s internet economy, this is great news for Springfield and Lincoln. Our investment in next-generation mobile Internet, this superfast AT&T 4G LTE network, delivers technologies that consumers want to improve their lives and businesses need to create jobs and fuel economic growth.” Through this investment, AT&T is supporting its customers’ growing desire for high-speed Internet access and new mobile, app and cloud-based services. As part of Project VIP, AT&T plans to add macro cell sites nationwide by year-end 2015, as well as deploy small cells and add Distributed Antenna Systems to increase the density of its wireless network.
