B+T Group Hires New Chief Financial Officer

B+T Group, a full-service engineering, construction and technical services firm specializing in the wireless industry, hired a new Chief Financial Officer. John McDermott, CPA, came to B+T Group as CFO in first quarter 2020, where he is responsible for the finances of all seven regional locations. Prior to joining the company, McDermott served as Chief Financial Officer for Zeeco, Inc., a privately owned multinational corporation specializing in engineered-to-order equipment for the energy industry, where he was responsible for the Accounting, Treasury, Information Technology, and Human Resource departments for more than 1,000 employees across ten countries.

“We are thrilled to have John at B+T Group,” said Chad Tuttle, CEO. “His experience with complex financial reporting models, contract review and negotiation, and advanced forecasting and budgeting will take us to a new level organizationally.” McDermott’s accounting experience also includes public accounting work locally for SF + Co. and internationally for PricewaterhouseCoopers. McDermott earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Accountant through Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

McDermott was born in Liverpool, England, and was raised and educated primarily in New Zealand. McDermott has made his home in Tulsa for 22 years, and lives there with his wife and children.
