Aero Wireless Group Names Rebecca Hunter VP of Aero Smart Communities

Wireless infrastructure solutions company Aero Wireless Group named industry veteran Rebecca Hunter to Vice President of Aero Smart Communities. Hunter will be responsible for expanding the company’s national role as an infrastructure provider in smart city partnerships and working groups, comprised of wireless operators, technology providers and community leaders. She will be based out of the company’s Washington, D.C. office. 

“Rebecca shares our vision to build long term industry and community relationships as an integral partner in the development of sustainable infrastructure for smart communities,” said Aero Wireless Group CEO Jim Lockwood. “Her experience uniquely positions her to lead Aero Smart Communities’ strategy. She will be a great addition to our senior team.” 

Hunter joins Aero Wireless Group from Crown Castle, where she most recently served as Smart Cities and External Affairs lead for the company’s Corporate Development and Strategy group. Throughout her 25-year career in telecommunications and technology, Hunter has held leadership positions for wireless carriers in network deployments, government relations, public policy and business development.

Hunter served on the board of the Telecom Industry Association and the Intelligent Transportation Society of America. She is an active member of the Smart Cities Council and the Wireless Industry Association. Hunter holds a Master of Business Administration from the Michael G. Foster School of Business at the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Florida.
