Only weeks after a similar incident in Orlando, a 19-year-old man climbed to the top of a 250-foot cell tower in Crystal River, FL last Thursday morning threatening to jump off, according to the Citrus County Chronicle. The man was rescued by Citrus County firefighters after spending seven hours on the tower located at Turkey Oak Drive at Citrus Avenue. A county sheriff’s office spokesman said the man, Joseph Alberti, was reportedly under the influence of synthetic marijuana. He climbed down with assistance from the Rescue Squad around 4 p.m.

Alberti was taken by ambulance for treatment, though officials said privacy laws prevented them from saying why he was being transported. He was not arrested at that time, the Chronicle reported.
