Seriously, this is not Randall Stephenson Day, it just seems so. Tuesday was a busy day for him, first with investors, predictions about future deals and then the news that he will join the Boeing (NYSE: BA) board of directors as a member, effective February 2016. He’s not leaving AT&T, just adding a freelance gig where he’ll will serve on the board’s audit, finance and special programs committees. The 55-year-old has been with AT&T for 33 years, and on the AT&T board since 2005 so he knows his way around a board room.

“He understands the challenges big companies face in driving productivity and growth, and we will benefit from having his perspective brought to bear on our business,” said Jim McNerney, Boeing chairman.
