Running an association that’s up in the air about most everything, Brian Wynne is grounded in one observation about his upcoming show in Dallas next week: “If you’ve never attended AUVSI XPONENTIAL – this is the one year you don’t want to miss.”
Billing itself as “the largest global community of leaders in drones, intelligent robotics and unmanned systems coming together to shape the future of our industry” the AUVSI kicks off Monday, May 8, in Dallas.
While the show covers the wide and ever-widening usage of drone technology across industries, does it give the wireless telecom industry a specific look at how it serves them?
“Absolutely,” Wynne told Inside Towers, “not only do we have several sessions on telecom (see list below) it gives your industry a chance to talk to other user groups and the platforms they use in construction, mapping, automated vehicles, et cetera.” Wynne said some of the topics covered are very pertinent to wireless infrastructure such as creating real-time 3D models of towers and case studies on drone usage in the tower industry.
With over ten sessions dedicated to exploring the opportunities and addressing the challenges of wireless, and 40-plus sessions focused on broad issues of importance to commercial end users, XPONENTIAL is worth looking into for anyone already swimming in these waters or just dipping a toe in.
Sessions targeting the wireless industry include:
- Panel Session: Drones in the Wireless Industry: Use Cases and Perspectives on an Emerging Market
- Panel Session: Customer Focus Panel: The Benefits, Challenges and Opportunities for Drone Imaging
- Technical Session: Down from the Clouds: Using GPUs and Drones to Create Real-Time 3D Models on the Fly
- Panel Session: Don’t Count Out Large UAS in the Commercial UAS Game: Recent Advances in Large UAS Platforms, Technology, and Capabilities for Commercial Use
- Co-located Event: Wireless Repair Roundup
