Atlas Tower reached a milestone last month by constructing its one thousandth tower. Now spread across the U.S. and three African countries, the company is one of the largest owners of new towers in Africa. With a tower development rate of nearly four builds a week since 2015, Atlas Tower, based in Boulder, CO and Cape Town, South Africa has become one of the fastest growing tower companies in Africa.

Tower number 1,000 was an 80-footer near the town of Gugwini, South Africa.

“It’s been a fast rise for the company since we expanded to Africa, in mid-2014. We have smashed every one of our early objectives,” said Founder and CEO, Nathan Foster. “We are delivering reliable, strong infrastructure at an impressive speed and helping to connect people to their communities. Although South Africa has been the largest African market, we are expanding geographically and are expanding to tower and power solutions for even the more developed markets.”

In addition to operational success, the company engages in an impressive and comprehensive community empowerment program. In South Africa alone, the company has contributed goods and services to more than 21 schools and orphanages. At a recent ribbon cutting in Newcastle, South Africa, students sang songs for Atlas Tower as they took delivery of more than 500 students desks. To date, the company has contributed to programs and investment in school buildings, fencing, security systems, desks, road improvement, computer centers, sports uniforms, athletic equipment, and books and teaching tools.
