Just three months after being named a Best Employer by Business North Carolina, Essentia, a Charlotte-based integrated service operation and solution provider for U.S. telecom carriers, has landed a spot on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing privately held U.S. companies.

According to company CEO Lindon Hayes, “It’s a symbiotic relationship at Essentia. Our people drive our success — and these business results reinforce the workplace culture we’re building together,” he said. “Earning these distinctions, one right after another, demonstrates that we’re aligned and proceeding down the path toward building something truly special here.”

With $300 million in projects amassed to date, the company made their debut on the Inc. 5000. According to Inc., “The 2020 Inc. 5000 achieved an incredible three-year average growth of over 500 percent, and a median rate of 165 percent. The Inc. 5000’s aggregate revenue was $209 billion in 2019, accounting for over 1 million jobs over the past three years.”

Meanwhile, the 55 employers selected by Business North Carolina were determined by polling employees and employers on topics ranging from recruitment to recognition. Essentia, a selection in the Small/Medium category, was highlighted for the following features and benefits: Paid Days Off, Tuition Assistance, Telecommuting, and 401(K)/Pension.

“Whether you’re talking about hitting your KPIs or building an environment in which team members want to positively impact everyone, everywhere — the conversations both begin the same way,” Hayes said. “That’s hiring A-Players, the team members who naturally elevate each other’s game and who customers get excited to work with. We’ve been extremely fortunate in that regard.”
