NATE has an updated version of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Access letter. The letter was designed by the DHS-CISA to intentionally be more open-ended and not have a deadline because the pandemic situation is fluid. This letter is also intended to be used not only for the COVID-19 pandemic, but also for any natural disasters a region may be experiencing, including hurricanes, fires, tornados, and floods.
NATE has been given permission to provide these letters to the association’s member companies. Many NATE members deploy, maintain and repair critical communications infrastructure.
NATE encourages its member companies to place copies of the updated CISA Access letter in their respective commercial motor vehicles. The letter essentially asks for additional access courtesy to work sites for essential service communications workers; it is intended to replace the previous DHS-CISA Access letter that expired May 28, 2020.
The association thanks its members for all that their respective companies and technician workers are doing on the front lines to enable connectivity during the COVID-19 pandemic situation. “We appreciate all of you!” the association says. To obtain a copy of the letter, email NATE Member Services Coordinator Jill Rethke at: [email protected].
