NATE Opens Registration for Wireless Rooftop Deployment Training

NATE announced yesterday that registration is officially open for the Wireless Rooftop Deployment Training sessions that will be facilitated by the association in 2020. Overall, twelve Wireless Rooftop Deployment Training Courses will be hosted nationwide free of charge to industry employees and employers due to a Susan Harwood Training Grant (SH-05134-SH9) from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U.S. Department of Labor.

Throughout the year, NATE is planning to host these complimentary, grant-enabled training sessions in Raleigh, NC; Dedham, MA; Columbus, OH; Las Vegas, NV; Carlsbad, CA; Parsippany, NJ; Schaumburg, IL; Miami, FL; Atlanta, GA; Lakewood, CO; Houston, TX and Baltimore, MD.  

The Wireless Rooftop Deployment Training curriculum is tailored specifically to the communications infrastructure industry. It includes detailed instructions on rooftop work activities and information workers need to know, including updates such as:

  • OSHA Walking-Working Surfaces Rule
  • Fall Protection Standards
  • Industry-specific rooftop fall protection procedures
  • Hazard assessment protocols, antenna identification
  • RF awareness
  • RF controls and other applicable standards

Additionally, the training will include information regarding employee and employer rights and responsibilities under the OSH Act of 1970, whistleblower complaint procedures and protection provisions.
