The National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE) is urging its members and all wireless industry companies and stakeholders to actively participate in next week’s OSHA National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction. NATE and OSHA are requesting that employers set aside time throughout this week to facilitate safety meetings and activities in order to have an open discussion with their workers about industry safety and fall prevention. The National Safety Stand-Down raises fall hazard awareness across the country in an effort to stop fall fatalities and injuries.

In addition to NATE, OSHA is partnering with key groups to assist with this effort, including the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, the National Occupational Research Agenda, OSHA approved State Plans, State consultation programs, the Center for Construction Research and Training, the American Society of Safety Engineers, the National Safety Council, the National Construction Safety Executives, the U.S. Air Force and the OSHA Training Institute Education Centers.

“As Chairman of NATE’s OSHA Relations Committee, I want to encourage all member companies to double-down on safety and quality by becoming active participants in this OSHA initiative,” stated Board of Directors member John Paul Jones from Cedar Park, Texas. “NATE is passionately committed to developing the resources, best practices, standards and curriculum to ensure our industry’s most precious asset, the tower technician workforce, remains safe at their respective job sites. OSHA’s National Safety Stand Down presents a golden opportunity for all stakeholders at every level of the diverse communications tower ecosystem to reaffirm their commitment to safety,” added Jones.

As part of National Safety Stand-Down week, OSHA has developed a Fall Prevention Safety Stand-Down webpage that can be accessed HERE. NATE is encouraging companies and workers to incorporate the following resources into their National Safety Stand-Down Activities:
