NATE_logoNATE yesterday announced the opening of the registration process for the first five Susan Harwood Training Grant courses the Association will be hosting in 2017.

NATE will facilitate one Train-the-Trainer Course and 12 Fall Prevention Worker Training Courses throughout the United States in 2017. NATE is pleased to offer these training courses free of charge and anticipates that the sessions will achieve the Association’s objectives of having a nation-wide impact, helping small businesses establish a culture of safety and enhancing worker quality and safety. Both the Train-the-Trainer Course and the Fall Prevention Worker Training Courses are made possible due to a Susan Harwood Training grant (SH-29596-SH6) from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U.S. Department of Labor.

NATE will facilitate the comprehensive, five-day Train-the-Trainer Course on Friday, February 24 – Tuesday, February 28 in Fort Worth, Texas. To fulfill the goals of the training grant program, the five-day Train-the-Trainer Course will highlight fall protection in the communication tower industry and will be structured using a trainer apprenticeship model in order to allow course participants an opportunity to gain industry training experience.

The Fall Prevention Worker Training Course curriculum will focus on the hazards in the communication tower industry and includes employee rights, employer responsibilities, whistleblower protection, high angle rescue, principles of fall protection, principles of safe climbing, tower systems, testing safety climb systems, testing personal protective equipment (PPE) and conducting a job safety analysis.

NATE is also planning to host additional Fall Prevention Worker Training Courses in 2017 in Baltimore, Maryland; Nashville, Tennessee; Las Vegas, Nevada; Phoenix, Arizona; Alpharetta, Georgia; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Kansas City, Missouri; and Boca Raton, Florida.  TO REGISTER.
