NXGVenues Deploys Private LTE in SoCal

NXGVenues announced a Private LTE deployment based on new license in 3.5 GHz Citizen Broadband Radio Services (CBRS) in SoCal. The FCC gave the greenlight for CBRS initial commercial deployments (ICD) in September; it illustrates the benefits of having openly-accessible, clean spectrum for LTE and future 5G private use, according to the company.

NXGVenues partnered with NXG, Ruckus Wireless and CommScope Private LTE Core Network Service. The trial started on December 30, 2019, and will last until February 15, 2020.

Key applications leveraged by the NXGVenues’ Private LTE network will comprise of:

  • Voice: Secure, guaranteed voice and video calls on standard off-the-shelf smartphones such as the iPhone11, Galaxy S10/Note 10 and Google Pixel 4.
  • Data: Secure data sessions for video cameras and other devices for security, operations and enhanced visitor experience
  • WiFi: Provide backhaul for WiFi access to allow densification of local WiFi networks and improved visitor experience
  • Monetization: provide Landlords an easy to manage platform for ROI on the network deployment and new stream of revenue from marketing and content delivery to their tenants and visitors.
  • Public Safety: Reliable push-to-talk applications for security and operational management
