Petzl’s NEWTON harness line has updated features for “added comfort and a better use experience,” according to the company. Pockets, quick release buckles, and a “hi-viz” vest option add to the existing legacy of this fall arrest harness. Petzl says, the NEWTON harness line is more “ergonomic, and the material is more breathable and lightweight than previous models.”

It is available in three sizes with a wide range of adjustability, and international versions are certified to North American standards; all three models meet ANSI Z359.11 and CSA Z259.10. The starting price point for the NEWTON harness line is $99.95.

The NEWTON EASYFIT is a fall arrest harness that can be put on and taken off easily with the intuitive FAST LT PLUS buckles on the leg loops. Two zippered pockets on the left and right side of the harness let you stow small items. The widely-spaced shoulder straps are padded, and the upper portion is made of breathable, lightweight material. A textile sternal, and metal and textile dorsal attachment points offer different connection options. Parking stowages make it easy to store MGO connectors. The NEWTON FAST harness is constructed similarly, minus the zippered pockets and padded leg loops.

The NEWTON harness is a slimmed down version of the EASYFIT and FAST. Color-coded shoulder straps make it easy to distinguish from the leg loops, and equipment loops and slots allow for easy tool organization. The FAST LT PLUS automatic sternal buckle makes it easy to fasten and unfasten the harness, without loss of adjustment.

The HI-VIZ vest can be integrated compatible with the NEWTON line to increase user visibility. It’s equipped with reflective strips and a name tag holder and is available in yellow or orange.
