Four people were killed Monday night in an airplane crash 25 miles north of Billings, MT, after hitting the guy wire of a 185-foot tower on Dunn Mountain, according to the Billings Gazette. The plane then tumbled down the slope on the west face of the mountain. An FAA spokesperson said the four-passenger Cessna 182 left Hardin, MT at 5:40 p.m. MST and hit the tower around 6 p.m. MST.

The National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA are investigating the crash. The Montana Highway Patrol, Shepherd Volunteer Fire Department and Musselshell County Sheriff’s Office all assisted in the recovery effort Sunday.

The name of the tower owner has not been identified, as of our deadline and no damage was reportedly done to the structure.
