A sinkhole that was created by recent storms in Roswell, GA, may bring down a 185-foot cell tower adjacent to the anomaly, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Georgia Power crews noticed the hole Thursday night after they received a report of an outage to the site. Nearby homes have been evacuated by police and Scott Road and Eves Road remain closed near Centennial High School. The school is already closed due to the pandemic.
Lt. Noah Caplan with the Roswell Police Department said the sinkhole has swallowed up part of a fence, a concrete pad and some utilities. Caplan reported the tower is now leaning slightly and appears to be in danger of falling.
