Speed kills, so they say. According to Tower Safety President and Founder Kathy Gill, it can be a literal expression when it comes to working on a tower at height. Gill said it was evident during her recent Tower Rodeo Challenge that pitted teams of climbers against each other doing various tasks. One competition involved installing an  Allfasteners Safety Climb at 25 feet’. The goal was to install a quality safety climb.

“One team took their time and managed to safely and successfully complete the challenge while the other team rushed their install.” Gill said. “This poor installation, if used in practice rather than a challenge, could have seriously injured or killed someone,” she said.

Prior to the Tower Rodeo, Gill created a “how to” video on the proper installation so contestants could review the procedure although the instruction was either lost on or ignored by certain teams who presented sloppy work. Gill said Tower Safety is working with AllFasteners to establish a training program when purchasing an AF Safety Climb.

“We are creating a learning environment to help the industry install a safe, efficient, safety climb,” she said.
