St. Louis, Missouri has taken another step towards becoming a smart city, reports Radio Resource Media Group. Smart City Interoperability Reference Architecture (SCIRA) was introduced last August, and final integration processes have just completed.
This month’s wrap up session featured a meeting between the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate, the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), the T-REX Innovation Center and the city. Up for discussion was an overview of emergency services and how the integrated technologies could help in crisis management situations.
“The OGC team of participating global vendors is excited to engage in this exercise by contributing their state-of-the-art interoperable products and documenting the interoperability testing in reusable deployment guides,” said OGC CEO Nadine Alameh. “This collaborative exercise is the most effective way to validate the standards-based architecture and ensure other cities have a tested framework to acquire and deploy their own smart city technologies in a cost effective and future-proof way.”
