The Tower Family Foundation received a $60,000 contribution from T-Mobile. The foundation provides financial assistance and scholarships to family members of tower workers who are severely injured, permanently disabled, or killed in accidents on the job. Since its inception less than two years ago, the Tower Family Foundation has awarded a total of $185,000 to eligible tower workers and their families.

T-Mobile made its contribution following its 3rd Annual Golf Tournament recently held in Newcastle, Washington. The company is a founding donor to the foundation, according to T-Mobile’s Senior Director of National Development Allan Tantillo. “The work of the Foundation – as well as Warriors4Wireless which also received an identical contribution – is significantly important to the successful deployment of wireless technologies. Mobile customers are demanding ubiquitous wireless coverage and these foundations help the entire industry respond to those demands,” he said.

The T-Mobile golf event was held at The Golf Club at Newcastle, which features panoramic views of Lake Washington, Mt. Rainier, the Olympic and Cascade Mountains, and the Seattle skyline.

Foundation Board of Directors President Jim Tracy from Legacy Telecommunications, Inc. in Burley, Washington, thanked T-Mobile, noting: “The financial contributions raised from this golf event will allow the Tower Family Foundation to continue fulfilling our mission of providing financial resources to workers and families during times of need.”
