A man working on a cell tower fell to his death Monday morning near Utica, officials with the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department told WAPT-TV. Deputies were called at about 10 a.m. to the site, Major Pete Luke of the sheriff’s department said.  Hinds County Coroner Sharon Steward identified the man as 34-year-old Melvin Ronnie Nelson Jr. of Foley, Alabama.

“The tower was being erected just off Highway 27 near Bear Creek Road in Utica,” Luke said. “Investigators are working to determine the cause of the accident. We know that there were at least two other men working with the victim when the accident occurred. No other injuries were reported.”
