Verizon CEO On Merger: “We Don’t Care”

Verizon Chairman/CEO Lowell McAdam recently shrugged off questions about the proposed merger between arch-rivals Sprint and T-Mobile. He expressed indifference about the carriers and their desire to compete with his company.

“We don’t care, is the answer to that,” McAdam said in an interview with GeekWire. “I don’t think that merger matters from a 5G perspective. We’re going to do it [5G] regardless and we’re way ahead of everybody.”

“In the areas like 5G, we’ve been pushing forward with that strategy,” McAdam told GeekWire. “We’ve made all the investments that are required in fiber and millimeter wave spectrum and those sorts of things.”
