The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) announced that the 2017 Wireless Infrastructure Show in Orlando May 22-25, will feature keynote speeches from government officials and a powerful group of industry leaders exploring the future of mobile communications and the widespread deployment of crucial wireless infrastructure.

“We are thrilled to host such distinguished leaders from both government and business at this year’s Wireless Infrastructure Show,” said WIA President/CEO Jonathan Adelstein.

The Wireless Infrastructure Show, which will take place at the Rosen Shingle Creek resort, is expected to attract nearly 3,000 leaders from across the wireless community. The annual event serves as the premier forum for wireless infrastructure owners and operators, mobile voice and data carriers, investors, government officials, equipment manufacturers and service providers, and others integrally involved in shaping the future of the wireless communications.

Confirmed Keynote Speakers at the 2017 Wireless Infrastructure Show include:

  • Mignon Clyburn, Commissioner, Federal Communications Commission
  • Michael O’Rielly, Commissioner, Federal Communications Commission
  • Michael Poth, CEO, First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet)
  • Dan Caruso, President and CEO, Zayo Group
  • John Horn, President and CEO, Ingenu
  • Buddy Dyer, Mayor, City of Orlando

Commissioners Clyburn and O’Rielly have worked in Washington to break down barriers and encourage the widespread deployment of wireless networks.  Mayor Dyer has established Orlando as a city eager to embrace mobile communications to improve the lives of its citizens. FirstNet’s Poth will deliver a progress report on the massive public safety network his group is tasked with deploying and discuss how the wireless infrastructure industry will assist with and benefit from the effort. The chief executives of Ingenu and Zayo Group represent the vital telecommunications networks that are establishing the types of networks needed to support the Internet of Things (IoT) and smart city initiatives in the coming years.

This year’s Wireless Infrastructure Show also will feature the popular panel of chief executives in a session titled “The View from the Top: Giants of Vertical Real Estate.” On the panel this year are Steven Marshall from American Tower, Jay Brown from Crown Castle, Jeff Stoops from SBA Communications, Alex Gellman from Vertical Bridge and David Weisman from InSite Wireless. Adelstein is moderating this panel.

For the first time, the Wireless Infrastructure Show also will feature leaders from US Ignite, which works to accelerate new wired and wireless networking advances from research to prototype to full-scale smart community and interconnected national deployments. US Ignite will administer more than $10 million in grants designed to support the creation of next-generation applications and services that will provide the foundation for smart communities, including cities, rural areas, regions and states.

In addition to speeches, panels and other workshops, WIA has partnered with major wireless carriers, infrastructure providers and other industry leaders to host the second annual Supplier Diversity Summit at the Wireless Infrastructure Show. The Supplier Diversity Summit, scheduled for May 24, is a dedicated day-long event developed to connect a more diverse group of businesses with the companies that invest tens of billions of dollars into deploying and maintaining wireless infrastructure each year. The goal is to facilitate productive discussions focused on the role supplier diversity plays in the wireless infrastructure industry.

“Connectivity continues to drive the Wireless Infrastructure Show this year,” said WIA EVP Tim House. “Through our content and networking opportunities, we aim to connect people each other and people with new ideas. The Supplier Diversity Summit has grown this year to include more companies from within the wireless ecosystem.  The entire event provides an ideal platform for professionals to learn more about technological developments and market forces that are pushing the wireless industry into an exciting future.”
