CTIA, the wireless industry association, said Tuesday that Brian Spurgeon, General Manager of Chat Mobility, has joined CTIA’s Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2020. Chat Mobility has provided wireless services and equipment – including nationwide coverage – to its rural customer base located in southwest and south central Iowa for over two decades.
“We are excited to welcome Brian as the newest member of CTIA’s Board of Directors and look forward to his contributions during this transformative time for our industry,” said CTIA President/CEO Meredith Attwell Baker. Spurgeon said 2020 will be a “crucial year” for the wireless industry, and he looks forward to “helping chart the course ahead.”
Spurgeon has over 25 years of experience in rural telecommunications. He joined Chat Mobility as General Manager in September of 2011. Spurgeon served as President of the Competitive Carriers Association for two years and Treasurer for three years.
