The Buffalo County Board of Commissioners in Nebraska voted to approve the purchase of a communications tower that will be part of the network to connect 911 centers across the state. The tower will be purchased for $37,000, and grant money will be used for the tower and for any additional site work. The tower will be part of the Nebraska Regional Interoperability Network, which is only 65% complete. According to the Kearney Hub, the project is expected to be completed by August.
