The Federal Communications Commission and the Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration announced the date and time for the national signing ceremony for the Telecommunications Industry Registered Apprenticeship Program’s (TIRAP) new apprenticeship opportunity for Telecommunication Tower Technicians. This apprenticeship allows workers to receive practical on-the-job training as tower technicians, something there has been a shortage of as of late. With the rapid deployment of 4G LTE and filling out the carrier’s networks, there has been a rush for tower technicians. This program will teach workers how to properly and safely work on telecommunication towers.
