ENERTECH: Safety Stays at the Core Through Expansion, Acquisitions, and Critical Times

While its portfolio of companies and solution set have grown and expanded over time, ENERTECH’s foundational principles have remained the bedrock of all current progress. Two qualities in particular have fueled the success of ENERTECH and its family of brands – safety and culture – and the two go hand-in-hand.

According to ENERTECH CEO Eric Chase, their core value of safety frames their culture and the way they approach work. “Fulfilling the industry’s demand for labor will continue to be a challenging opportunity,” explains Chase. “Continued support of existing infrastructure and bringing 5G to market nationwide will require more resources than are readily available, and the skills required will continue to adapt as technology solutions evolve. We understand and anticipate these needs and we will continue to invest in the expansion of our employees’ technical abilities with Safety as our Core Value.”

Growth & Expansion

It’s been a busy few years for ENERTECH. The company previously went to market with three regional brands: Enertech Resources, EasTex Tower, and Legacy Telecommunications. In November 2019, Onex’s mid-market private equity platform, ONCAP, partnered with ENERTECH to acquire the company from private equity fund, Tower Arch Capital, further positioning the company for growth.

In February of 2020, ENERTECH’s strategic evolution continued with the acquisition of CMS Wireless, a full service provider to the wireless industry in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Mississippi and Western Tennessee. The addition of CMS Wireless also included NEX LEVEL SAFETY TRAINING, an effort dedicated to providing the highest level of safety training for climbers and riggers in the tower industry.

By virtue of its diverse member companies, ENERTECH is able to offer a wide variety of services including technology upgrades, structural engineering, macro tower builds, small cell, DAS, 5G installations, tower modifications, generator services, civil services, microwave networks, utilities services, project management, and more. It has 18 regional offices and a service area spanning 25 states.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

Jim Tracy, Legacy Telecommunications CEO shares, “Our family of companies has dedicated significant resources in the national effort to increase workforce development to enhance worker safety and dignity.” The company equips its crews with best-in-class training, PPE, tools, and procedures, as well as remaining vigilant in its approach to pursue constant improvement in all areas. ENERTECH prides itself on a family-oriented culture and keeping safety as the primary focus in all that it does.

The ever-enlarging ENERTECH family does not stop at acquisitions. Hiring key industry talent at the top level to bring it all together is another strategic effort to build a premier leadership team. ENERTECH recently welcomed Brian Bicknese as Director of Workforce Development, Chris Sanders as Director of Human Resources, Douglas Miller as Director of Information Solutions, and James Peterson as Director of Mergers & Acquisitions. “We are excited to bring on these passionate industry leaders who will add to the existing deep bench of professionals dedicated to the safety and continuing development of our industry’s tower technicians,” Chase said.

ENERTECH’s concentration on safety and culture isn’t limited to work at heights. It spans every part of their process. As the country battles COVID-19, connectivity and the role of the wireless industry has never been more important. An essential business, ENERTECH is on the proverbial pandemic frontline, ensuring the nation’s networks don’t exhaust due to heightened data demand.

The ENERTECH team maintains our nation’s vital communications infrastructure while taking all of the necessary steps to ensure its employees are safeguarded from the looming virus. “We are proud to be part of a workforce that is key to keeping our country connected and moving forward and we’re going above and beyond to protect our ENERTECH family in the process,” says Chase.
