The FCC announced that they are now in Stage Two of the AWS-3 auction, which means bidders must be active on at least 95% of their current bidding eligibility in each round. The threshold in Stage One was set at 80%. Stage Two began on Tuesday with Round 68. At the end of round 72, the auction amount had reached over $42 billion. “If a bidder’s provisionally winning bids (PWB) do not satisfy the required activity level and the bidder does not place any additional bids, the FCC will apply an automatic waiver on the bidder’s behalf. If no waivers remain, the bidder’s current bidding eligibility will be permanently reduced, possibly curtailing or eliminating its ability to place additional bids in the auction,” the FCC announced Monday.
