James Weiss, President and Founder of Turnkey Safety Solutions was inspired by his wife to dedicate his career to keep workers on the job free from injury.

“My father-in-law was killed in a workplace accident when my wife was a young girl,” Weiss said. Seeing how costly and devastating accidents can be on a personal level led him to start Turnkey Safety Solutions (TSS), a safety and training consulting company that provides a wide variety of solutions to meet the individual needs of clients. TSS focuses its coverage area on the PA/NJ/NY region.

“From there I had an opportunity to be educated and work in the safety department while in the U.S. Navy,” he said. After leaving the Navy, Weiss took a job as Safety Director of a wireless construction company and learned the dynamics of the industry. “I found solutions to create a positive safety culture and bulletproof policy and document system revolving around the ways we do business,” he said. Weiss got more involved with NATE and the NWSA as a member of the NWSA TTT-1&2 Task Force, helping write the exams for the TTT-1 and 2 certification.

“After four years as a safety director I started to notice most companies in the wireless construction industry are too small to have a safety department,” he said. “So I came up with the idea that I could open a consulting firm and become an outsourced safety department to these companies, and as they grow TSS can grow with them.”

TSS has safety experience in the wireless telecommunication and aviation industries.  “We are committed to ensuring a safe work environment for all employees in fast paced, high production and extremely dangerous workplaces,” Weiss said.

“We create programs for our clients that apply to their specific businesses,” Weiss told Inside Towers in an interview. “In most industries, there will be many regulations that do not apply or the scope of a company’s business cannot comply with certain regulations. In these cases, we suggest industry best practice items so you can keep doing the work and remain compliant.

From the smallest mishap to the large-scale publicized OSHA investigations, Weiss said he can provide you with the support to keep the incident under control. “Whether you would like a one-time consultation or you would like TSS to manage the entire investigation, we can speak with OSHA and other organizations from the moment the accident occurs until the investigation is complete,” he said.
