Wireless Hall of Fame member and former CEO of PCIA-The Wireless Association Jay Kitchen has died. Details of his passing were few at press time but Kitchen has long been credited as a pioneer in the wireless industry. He was an FCC wireless telecom policy advisor, and CEO of the old NABER – National Association of Business and Educational Radio when it merged with the Personal Communications Industry Association (PCIA) in 1994. He served as CEO and President of the merged outfit from 1994 until 2004.

Late Tuesday, Jonathan Adelstein, President and CEO of PCIA – The Wireless Infrastructure Association released this statement: “Jay Kitchen played an instrumental role in shaping the modern voice of the wireless industry in Washington. Under his watch, PCIA established itself as a leading organization representing companies that build, operate and own the nation’s vital wireless infrastructure.
