IBISWorld released a report on wireless tower construction in the US market on Friday. Demand for telecommunication infrastructure construction is anticipated to steadily grow over the five years into 2018. Over the period, private nonresidential construction investments are forecast to increase. Local and state government investment, which includes funding for telecommunications projects, is also anticipated to slowly recover. “Additionally, telecommunications service providers are expected to steadily expand their high-speed data services, while the existing infrastructure will require considerable maintenance and repairs,” says Industry Analyst David Yang. As such, IBISWorld forecasts that industry revenue will grow in the five years to 2018. (Source: IBISWorld) Because mobile demand is growing, it is only logical that our infrastructure will have to grow to handle the capacity, especially as technology continues to develop.
