The Hummelstown Borough in Pennsylvania has decided to utilize the services of the Cohen Law Firm, which specializes in wireless telecommunications law, to prepare a new ordinance for the town. The Pittsburgh law firm will prepare the document at a cost not to exceed $3,200, The Patriot News reported. The ordinance will incorporate the installation of DAS, since more companies are using this small cell technology. According to the proposal, “In our judgment, the township should treat this new ‘threat’ from wireless companies as an ‘opportunity’ to prevent developments that are inconsistent with the quality of life of their residential neighborhoods. It is also an opportunity to obtain new fees from these companies occupying rights-of-way.” (The Patriot News)
