The Arcadia National Park Superintendent Sheridan Steele in Gouldsboro, Maine, has reached out to AT&T to see about activating an existing cell tower in Prospect Harbor. A new campground is scheduled to be opened by the National Park Service on the Schoodic Peninsula in the beginning of September, and officials are trying to make sure that campers will have adequate cell service. According to the Ellsworth American, “Steele also offered in the letter to consider placing an antenna on the tower at the site of the Schoodic Institute within Acadia National Park on the Schoodic Peninsula. The town is urging community members to contact their state representative.”
