Mobile Network Testing Forum Hosted by Rohde & Schwarz Goes Digital

Rohde & Schwarz announced yesterday it will host the tenth edition of the Mobile Network Testing (MNT) Forum 2021 in a digital format. The Forum is designed to offer deep insights and discussion on hot topics in the mobile network ecosystem and their test and measurement implications, including 5G benchmarking, private network deployment and Machine-Quality of Experience.

Taking place in Munich, Germany the conference will be held on May 17 from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. EDT (12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. CEST) and May 18, from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. EDT (9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. CEST). For further information on the event including the agenda, and for registration, please visit here.

The agenda for both days includes live and interactive demonstrations of the latest developments in mobile network testing, as well as round table sessions to network with fellow professionals and test technology specialists. Events are sorted into six clusters, enabling participants to tailor their attendance according to their interests.

Talks on the first day are divided into:

  • Scoring the quality of mobile networks
  • New developments in applications and services
  • Learnings from commercial 5G network rollout

The second day has events on the topics of:

  • Network deployment, troubleshooting and operations
  • Spectrum and regulatory aspects
  • Private networks, campus networks and new verticals.

The clusters are separated by networking breaks for attendees to join round table discussions and visit the educational areas of the digital forum. A number of industry experts from around the globe will offer their expertise to the attendees throughout the session clusters.

  • On the first day, Michael Thelander from Signals Research Group will share the results of a 5G benchmarking campaign executed in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area, and Dr. Christoph Bach from Ericsson will talk about mission-critical 4G and 5G applications. Luke Lucas from T-Mobile US will share learnings from their 5G rollout, and Mark McDonald from Bell Canada will share insights about the 5G performance in Canada.
  • On the second day, Yap Jian Beng from Singtel will hold a presentation on operating a dual-architecture multi-band 5G network, followed by Frank Brämer from Vodafone, who will demonstrate typical RF challenges using practical troubleshooting examples. Dr. Sascha Falahat from Bundesnetzagentur will look at regulatory aspects. And last but not least, private 5G networks will be the focus in the presentations of Thomas Hainzel from Nokia, providing an overview of activities across Europe, Dr. Andreas Müller from Bosch and General Chair of 5G-ACIA, doing his own reality check of private networks, and Daniel Wolbers from Media Broadcast, taking the audience on his journey through the 5G experience.

Sessions delivered by Rohde & Schwarz specialists will delve into the company’s own work as a leading global supplier of standalone products, integrated solutions and managed services for testing and improving the quality of mobile networks along the entire network lifecycle.
