The Bellefontaine City Council Finance Committee in Pennsylvania learned earlier this week that radio hardware upgrades will require additional spending. Police Chief Brandon Standley updated the committee on efforts to relocate his department’s radio tower, the Bellefontaine Examiner reported. The current tower located at the municipal building is overloaded so radio signals aren’t being transmitted properly. The original plan was to relocate the equipment to a Verizon tower, but that plan was put on hold after American Tower announced the acquisition of Verizon’s tower assets. The Bellefontaine Examiner reported, “Verizon was willing to give the city space free of charge but American Tower wants $1,500 a month for 10 years.”
