New Faces at Connect(X): Zinwave CTO Slavko Djukic

Last week’s Connectivity Expo in Charlotte offered numerous chances to meet up with the new “movers and shakers” in our industry; the “young lions,” if you will.  One company doing some roaring was Zinwave who announced at the show, a rollout of “OnGo” services, the CBRS answer to “WiFi,” that will help its customers pilot private LTE technology over CBRS spectrum. OnGo’s job is to allow for the densification of wireless networks and deliver more speed and reliability.

The man charged with making that happen is Zinwave CTO Slavko Djukic, who took the time to sit down with Inside Towers at the show.  With such a promising and wide-open market, in-building connectivity in an increasingly interconnected world, what are the challenges Zinwave faces?

“The only challenges,” Djukic said, “are how to meet all the opportunities and opening the doors to different markets.” In addition to office buildings; hospitals, universities and hotels all have their own agendas as to how they want to make their system work. “There is no cookie cutter approach to this,” Djukic said. “Even within a hospital complex, you have to go building-by-building to customize it to their needs.”

In an era where businesses and the industry demand more bandwidth, lower latency, true mobility and superior security, OnGo hopes to fill the gaps where WiFi is unable to meet demand.  Zinwave and its CTO look like they’re up for the challenge.
