A Few New Towers in Mentor

A couple of new towers are being proposed in Mentor, Ohio, but lucky for residents they won’t be built near homes as was initially planned. The City Council met last week to discuss the towers, and came up with a new plan to satisfy the Council’s concerns even if not everybody agreed. TowerCo agreed to place the 120-foot monopole more centrally on the designated property, about 600 feet from the nearest resident instead of 70 feet. The land will be leased from the city for $1,500 a month for 30 years. In addition, the city will be allowed to use the tower free of charge for public service/safety needs. The Planning Commission will still need to review the tower proposal.
