Nokia (NYSE: NOK) unveiled changes to its Group Leadership Team. Federico Guillén will retire from Nokia on December 31 of this year. He will step down from his role as president of Nokia’s Network Infrastructure business group and from the Group Leadership Team on June 30.

As part of a managed transition, David Heard, currently Network Infrastructure Chief Strategic Growth Officer, has been promoted to President of Network Infrastructure and will join the Group Leadership Team, effective July 1. Heard will report to Nokia’s President and CEO, Justin Hotard, and be based in Dallas. Guillén and Heard will work together to ensure a seamless transition, according to Nokia.

Heard joined Nokia with the acquisition of Infinera in February 2025. The acquisition aimed to bolster Nokia’s optical networking capabilities and strengthen its presence in the North American and data center markets. Heard was CEO of Infinera and prior, was Infinera’s chief operating officer, responsible for leading the innovation of new solutions. Before joining Infinera, Heard held senior positions across various technology companies in the U.S. including Lucent and AT&T, gaining “comprehensive experience of the telecoms industry and demonstrating a strong growth mindset and a commitment to innovation leadership,” according to Nokia.
