FCC Chairman Ajit Pai signed off on the appointment of Radha Sekar as Chief Executive Officer of the Universal Service Administrative Co. (USAC), a non-profit organization that administers the agency’s Universal Service programs. Pai said Sekar was selected after an extensive search by the USF board and her credentials as well as her experience, make her “highly qualified. We have a lot of work ahead implementing the FCC’s reforms of the USF programs. Sekar will be key to this effort,” said Pai.
Sekar thanked Vickie Robinson, who was Acting USAC CEO since March. Sekar comes to the USF from the Farm Services Administration of the Department of Agriculture, where she oversaw a $30 billion budget. Previously, she spent more than a decade at PricewaterhouseCoopers, followed by positions at IBM, the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security.
