Control of both chambers of Congress remained up for grabs Wednesday afternoon following the midterm elections, with both the House and the Senate too close to call, though a GOP takeover of the House appears imminent.
Senate results remained unfinalized in Arizona, Nevada and Georgia. Republicans need to win two of those three to claim a majority, notes CNN. On the Senate Committee for Commerce, Science & Transportation, incumbent Sen. Maggie Hassen, (D-NH) prevailed in her reelection contest. So too, did incumbents Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) and Brian Schatz (D-HI). The committee is evenly split 14-14.
Neither committee Chair Maria Cantwell, (D-WA) nor Ranking Member Roger Wicker (R-MS) were up for reelection.
In Georgia, at press time, neither Democratic incumbent Raphael Warnock, who’s a committee member, nor Republican challenger Herschel Walker, showed signs of pulling too far ahead as votes were counted in the Peach State, which saw record early voting, according to Roll Call, Axios and the Associated Press.
For the Republicans, incumbent John Thune was reelected, as was Jerry Moran (R-KS) and Todd Young (R-IN). Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) won reelection, as did Mike Lee (R-UT). Coming tomorrow, the House races.
