In August 2014, the Montgomery Board of Adjustments in Alabama denied AT&T’s request for a Special Exception Application to build a new tower in the area. AT&T then filed suit in federal court to have the decision reversed, claiming the Board violated the federal Communications Act. A settlement was reached on Wednesday. Montgomery City Council Glen Pruitt told the residents that they had received a settlement with the company, and the 160-foot tower will be made to look like a tree. AT&T will fence off the bottom of the tower with foliage around it. AT&T will also provide $7,500 for residents to plant more trees along the border as needed.
