Shentel Joins CTIA Board

CTIA, the wireless industry association, said Shentel, the Shenandoah Telecommunications Company, has joined the association’s board of directors. Shentel SVP of Wireless William Pirtle, will represent the telecom effective immediately. Shentel says it’s the sixth largest public wireless company in the U.S. and provides telecommunications services to consumers across Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Kentucky.

Promoted to Senior Vice President in 2015, Pirtle joined Shentel in 1992, as Vice President of Network Services, responsible for Shentel’s technology, maintenance and operational network decisions. He led the company’s participation in its wireless PCS business and Sprint affiliation beginning in 1995. He is also the co-founder of the Shenandoah Valley Technology Council.
