Alpine Electronics debuted a new 9” dash system for full-size General Motors trucks which includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The company’s “restyle aftermarket dash systems” are meant for those who buy used pickup trucks and want to replace the sound systems yet keep the functionality of their car controls.

The i209-GM is engineered for the 2013 and newer Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. The unit includes a 9-inch capacitive touchscreen with a 4-way swipe user interface. It’s suited for access to maps, music, messages and phone calls via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto through the touchscreen or the “voice” button. It also works with Google Assistant via USB and Bluetooth connection. Audio sources include a built-in HD Radio receiver, audio streaming,  and Pandora control from smartphones. Available now, the i209-GM lists for $2,200 at Alpine retailers.

Alpine has also figured out a way to fill customer requests for a large screen aftermarket system that doesn’t require custom installation. The HALO9 ilLX-F309 is a universal 9” AM/FM/audio/video receiver that will fit into a variety of vehicles and features both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with Google Assistant.

It features a touch screen that is attached to an adjustable mount connected to a 1-DIN slot for installation. The screen “hovers” in front of the dash. The ilLX-F309 includes a built-in HD Radio tuner. Expected to be available at Alpine retailers in February, the ilLX-F309 will list for $1,100.
