Spalter’s Contract Extended at USTelecom

USTelecom, The Broadband Association, renewed the contract of President and CEO Jonathan Spalter for an additional three years. Since joining the association in 2017, Spalter has focused USTelecom’s goal to achieve a 21st century broadband policy framework that prioritizes investment in infrastructure, network modernization and innovation.

“Jonathan has built strong momentum by positioning USTelecom, our members and our industry at the center of today’s critical regulatory and legislative connectivity discussions,” said Bob Udell, President and CEO of Consolidated Communications and acting chair of USTelecom’s Board of Directors. Udell will chair USTelecom’s Board of Directors through this October, USTelecom also announced. He succeeds Anand Vadapalli, who stepped-down as President and CEO of Alaska Communications last month.

Prior to joining USTelecom, Spalter was chair of Mobile Future, the national wireless technology association. He was confirmed by the United States Senate as associate director of the United States Information Agency where he was also Chief Information Officer. Spalter was also on the staff of the National Security Council at the White House and at the Pentagon.
